When visiting a hotel, guests use their room directories to familiarize themselves with the facility, area attractions, eateries, and shopping. Clearly, the information provided therein relieves many questions put to the hotel's operator and eliminates the in-room clutter of lose paper. And although your guests may not realize how much effort is needed to coordinate an effective room directory, it should be recognized as an essential marketing tool by its hotel staff and management. So, how do you begin your link to room directories. Selecting a room directory provider. A hotel facility requires a lot of hands on work and here at Northbound Publications we realize your time is important to you. We work with your existing directory to redefine it and improve your image. Dont have a directory dont worry, our graphics staff can provide you with a sample directory to help you create your own unique marketing tool. Worried about cost? We have several options to receive your next hotel directory through our program: Advertiser supported directories and Hotel supported directories. In our Advertiser supported program, our sales representatives work with your community business owners to develop effective advertisements for your directory. Through the received ad sales, we produce a room directory at no cost to you. Click here to see if your hotel is in an area we are currently serving. Hotel supported directories are provided to facilities that are not in our current coverage area. Pricing for hotel supported directories vary based on size and quantity. Call or email for appropriate pricing. INK/PAPER/STOCK/ BINDING: Our standard room directory is full color and is printed on 28lb weight white paper. Our covers are 60lb cover stock with laminate to protect our books from day to day damage. We offer several binding options: saddle stitch, three hold punch (hotels to provide binder), and comb binding. CONTENTS: We work with your management to develop a directory that is representative of your facility and its branding. You can choose a custom-design that reflects a theme from your hotel, the community or the style in your sales piece. Each of our covers include a statement noting that the books are hotel property and are not to be removed from the rooms; directories are too costly to be a disposable souvenir. If your facility is large or structurally complicated, you might decide to include a property layout map in the directory. If the hotel does not have a current map, our representatives and graphics staff will work with you to develop a diagram. Guests will reference this for the location of ice and vending machines, pool, workout room, laundry, games, conference rooms and restaurants. Our directories are custom made to suite your needs. Our standard directory includes fire safety, TV channels, and guest services. However, we custom make each directory to meet the needs of the facility. It also helps to work with your staff to determine which information is sought more often. The welcome letter from the hotel or general manager introduces the visitor to the hotel and the region. Signing the letter with a "Hospitably Yours" or "Warm Regards" gives the visitor a sense of personal dedication to a pleasurable stay and quality service. Each directory we provide includes area information and maps that creates a connection between you and your community. Interactive points of interest offer an exciting option in the area information section. Our standard directory includes side tabs designating each section of the directory and are helpful to the traveler. ADVERTISER-SUPPORTED DIRECTORY. Northbound Publications provides a Guest Directory for the Hotel at no charge to the Hotel in regions where we have an established program. For a listing of current regions we serve, click here. Northbound will furnish a supply of the publication adequate for all room and front desk use for a period of one year. The publication will be updated each year at no charge to the Hotel. In order to work with the community of merchants, we asked, on a space available basis, that the hotel agrees to provide a complimentary room and local phone calls to the Northbound staff on an indefinite basis. In the event the Hotel is full with paying guests, we will make other arrangements. We attempt to solicit a comprehensive assortment of advertising merchants so that the guests are viewing a directory that meets their diverse wishes. In our attempt to provide a diverse advertising listing, we ask that the hotel agrees to promote advertisers listed in the publication. However, the hotel will have the right to exclude any display advertisement that it reasonably believes detrimental to the business.
PROOFS: Northbound Publications provides two proofs to the hotel, the initial and final proof. Each year after the initial creation, we send reminder letters to facilities when we are beginning our marketing campaign in the area that request changes or updates to the directories. We provide area advertisers will at least one actual size proof in order to provide accurate graphics creation. Our graphics staff work hand in hand with the sales representatives to provide a high quality full color ad. Additional proofs are provided based on an individual basis. CONTRACT COMMITMENT: Our standard hotel directory agreement is for a three-year period. Other arrangements can be made on a case-by-case basis. To see a sample hotel agreement contract, click here. THE FINAL PRODUCT: We suggest that the hotel maintain a guest service directory at your front desk at all times. The information and recommended businesses are the same outside of the room as they are inside. The final product should reflect the quality service and dedication to your community, so prominently display your guest service directory with pride. |
